The goal is to describe the whole world by compiling as much useful information about all geographical objects as possible, organize it and provide free access to our data for public domain.

Thus, it provides multiple web services (hosting, mailing lists, wiki, ftp, forums…) to social/cultural/artistic projects as long as they share their contents with Creative Commons licenses (or other free/libre licenses).
