Fab Lab International

Fab Lab International is a formal structure for the Fab Lab international community. The fast and substantial increase of the worldwide Fab Lab community leads to the need of a higher degree of self-organization. Because the network diversifies, a formal structure could be supportive for various objectives within the Fab Lab community (visibility, development, spreading of research, empowerment, open design, to mention only a few). At the Fab6 Conference held in August 2010, the Fab Lab community decided to establish an International Fab Lab Association.

Fab Academy

The Fab Academy is a Digital Fabrication Program directed by Neil Gershenfeld of MIT’s Center For Bits and Atoms and based on MIT’s rapid prototyping course, MAS 863: How to Make (Almost) Anything. The Fab Academy began as an outreach project from the CBA, and has since spread to Fab Labs around the world. The program provides advanced digital fabrication instruction for students through an unique, hands-on curriculum and access to technological tools and resources.

Impact Hub

Impact hub is a network of 54 coworking spaces. It is a global coworkers community. According to them: Part innovation lab, part business incubator, and part community center, we offer our members a unique ecosystem of resources, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities to grow impact. We believe a better world evolves through the combined accomplishments of creative, committed and compassionate individuals focused on a common purpose. NextSpace

NextSpace is a network of coworking spaces that focus on creating a collaborative community. The members come from a wide variety of industries: software, design, marketing, legal services, architecture, and engineering, ... NextSpace has facilities in 9 locations.

Betahaus

Betahaus is a coworking space in Berlin, Hamburg, Sofia and Barcelona. They focus on community building and foster the interactions between the different coworkers in the different locations. They organize frequent meetings and gatherings for networking and knowledge sharing They also have a maker space in Berlin facility: Apart from separate meeting rooms, large event spaces, an fablab called open design city and our café on the ground floor for relaxed entertainment, we have a coworking space of approximately 1500 square meters.

MOB - Makers of Barcelona

MOB is more than a co-working space, it is a localized community of makers. With over 120 members MOB, provides the perfect platform from which to take a project from idea to completion. Allowing to test, prototype, market and release your project all under one roof.

Debian

The Debian Project is an association of individuals who have made common cause to create a free operating system. This operating system that we have created is called Debian. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. At the core of an operating system is the kernel. The kernel is the most fundamental program on the computer and does all the basic housekeeping and lets you start other programs. Debian GNU/Linux is one of the most popular Linux distributions for personal computers and network servers.

Red Ciudadana. Partido X

Red Ciudadana, Partido X is a political party appeared publicly in early 2013, presented online via its Twitter account (@ Partido_X). It came out from a group persons related to the Spanish 15M and from the movement of free culture and free software. This party advocates for democracy 4.0: forms of direct democracy by the Internet, wikigovernement, binding referendums, popular Llegislative initiatives, involvement of citizens in the drafting of laws, transparency.

Mozilla Foundation

The Mozilla Foundation is a non-profit organization that exists to support and lead the open source Mozilla project. Founded in July 2003, the organization sets the policies that govern development, operates key infrastructure and controls Mozilla trademarks and copyrights. It owns a taxable subsidiary: the Mozilla Corporation, which employs many Mozilla developers and coordinates releases of the Mozilla Firefox web browser and Mozilla Thunderbird email client. The subsidiary is 100% owned by the parent, and therefore follows the same non-profit principles.

Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a collaboratively edited, multilingual, free Internet encyclopedia that is supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Volunteers worldwide collaboratively write Wikipedia's 30 million articles in 287 languages, including over 4.4 million in the English Wikipedia. Anyone who can access the site can edit almost any of its articles, which on the Internet comprise the largest and most popular general reference work, ranking sixth globally among all websites on Alexa with an estimated 365 million readers.
