CBPP Directory

The mission of this directory is to collect and typify digital platforms or projects that are Commons Based Peer Productions (CBPP). In short, CBPP means to produce collaboratively and provide access to resources under community governance. Currently, in this directory there are a hundred of cases that are based on collaborative forms of production. Projects that produce open sets of software, texts, images, videos, music or sounds, collaborative research projects that give access to all the data, projects that produce resources for public use and that also offer open methodologies, etc.

Wikimapia

Wikimapia is a multilingual open-content collaborative map, where anyone can create place tags and share their knowledge. The goal is to describe the whole world by compiling as much useful information about all geographical objects as possible, organize it and provide free access to our data for public domain.

LocalWiki

LocalWiki is a grassroots effort to collect, share and open the world’s local knowledge.We want anyone, anywhere to be able to learn about where they live — their local government, the history of their neighborhoods, streets, social movements, noteworthy local figures, social services, schools – every facet of life in their community. And we believe that this vast collection of local knowledge should be created by the people who know it best - individual community members working together. There are already over 70 independent LocalWiki projects in 9 countries and in 7 languages.

P2P Wikisprint

The P2P WikiSprint brings together activists, researchers, hackers, journalists, etc. to map and document P2P collaborative experiences

Open Street Maps

OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. Two major driving forces behind the establishment and growth of OSM have been restrictions on use or availability of map information across much of the world and the advent of inexpensive portable satellite navigation devices.

Ushahidi

Ushahidi is a non-profit tech company that specializes in developing free and open source software for information collection, visualization and interactive mapping.

Meipi

A meipi is a collaborative space where users can upload information and content around a map. Each meipi has a particular context, which can be local (when the entries are related to a specific area), or thematic (when the content is associated with a particular idea).
