FcForum

The Free Culture Forum (FCForum) is an international encounter of the most relevant organizations and individuals on free culture, digital rights and access to knowledge, people engaged in reflecting on the social and economic challenges of the dissemination of culture and knowledge in the digital age. This event has been taking place in Barcelona every year since 2009, jointly with the oXcars, a free culture festival.

Fairphone

Fairphone is a social enterprise that started with the goal of opening up the supply chain, understanding how products are made and creating a better connection between people and the things they own. Our hope was to create greater transparency and start serious discussions – we didn’t actually envision ourselves as consumer electronics producers when we began! It started in 2010 as a project of Waag Society, Action Aid and Schrijf-Schrijf aimed at raising awareness about conflict minerals in electronics and the wars that the sourcing of these minerals is fueling in the DR Congo.

OSVehicle

"TABBY is an open source framework for vehicles" TABBY is the first open source framework for the creation vehicles. It has been defined as the “Ikea Car” and the “Arduino for mobility”. It is a versatile platform that can be used to bootstrap businesses, to create your own vehicle, for education purposes, and much more. Open Source All the plans and blueprints for TABBY can be downloaded in the website’s download section. You are welcome and encouraged to improve the designs, work on them, and upload them to share your ideas with the community through the OSV forum.

OpenROV

OpenROV is a open-source underwater robot. Its operating system is based on Linux.

Makespace Madrid

Makespace Madrid is a new space dedicated to digital manufacturing, in which the latest tools for prototyping and product development, and creative and technological projects is. It is an initiative managed by a non-profit association (Association Makespace Madrid, CIF G-86721941) and driven by members of a community of technology developers and innovation, the meeting point and professional development is Makespace Madrid.

Protei

Protei is a Shape Shifting, Open Hardware, Sailing robot to sense and clean the oceans. Originally invented to clean up the BP Oil Spill pulling long oil sorbent using wind power by Cesar Harada, Protei is now a platform technology to transport scientific payload and clean-up equipment at sea, developed by an global community of scientists, engineers, makers and sailors. Scoutbots is the community that develops "Protei" the Open Hardware Shape Shifting Sailing Robot to collect ocean data and transport cleanup equipment.

Arduino

Arduino is a single-board microcontroller, intended to make the application of interactive objects or environments more accessible. The hardware consists of an open-source hardware board designed around an 8-bit Atmel AVR microcontroller, or a 32-bit Atmel ARM. Pre-programmed into the on-board microcontroller chip is a boot loader that allows uploading programs into the microcontroller memory without needing a chip (device) programmer.

Nerdkits

A Nerdkit is a collection of components, some software, helpful documentation and an active user community. A NerdKits microcontroller kit is appropriate for software hackers looking to branch out into electronics, and has educational material to allow even middle-schoolers and high-schoolers (ages 12+) looking for a fun challenge to learn by doing, especially with the help of a techie parent! A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip, including processing, memory, and inputs and outputs

Libelium

Internet of things platform provider, developing open source urban sensors and other sensor networks in the scope of Smart Cities.

Netduino

Netduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on the .NET Micro Framework. It uses a 32-bit ARM-microcontroller. The Netduino boards (except the Mini and Go) are designed to be pin-compatible with most Arduino shields.[1]
